Ethlete Lab Academy - In this course, students will identify and explain basic cybersecurity concepts by recognizing common online threats such as phishing, weak passwords, and unsafe links. Through analysis of real-world online interactions, students will develop the critical thinking skills needed to evaluate risks and make informed decisions that protect their personal information and devices.

All private lesson teachers are selected and hired by the music staff at Lakewood City Schools. These instructors have extensive experience both teaching and performing.

Each lesson lasts a total of 40 minutes. It is expected that students will take one lesson a week until they have completed all of the registered lessons.
The scheduling (day and time) of lessons will be managed by each individual private teacher. Please expect an email from your teacher to schedule lessons.
Unattended lessons without prior notification will not be made up. Exceptions are made for emergency situations.

Families receiving a scholarship MUST register themselves for lessons after they have received confirmation of their approved aid. This MUST be done by calling the recreation department and talking to Sharon Mathaios between 8 AM and 4 PM (216-529-4081).
Previous balances must be paid before a student may register for more lessons.

Scholarships

Scholarships to help pay for private lessons are available both for middle school and high school students. The deadline to apply for both is Sept. 5.

Program Summary:

This three-month summer program is for students wishing to get a head start on weekly violin, viola, or cello lessons before joining the full Lakewood Suzuki Strings program in the school year. All levels from beginner to advanced are accepted. Develop your child’s confidence, discipline, and musicianship skills through the highly respected Suzuki Method of music education, which utilizes principles of language-learning such as imitation, listening, and repetition in a nurturing environment. Students ages 12 and under must have an adult practice partner (parent or guardian) who can attend lessons, take notes, and coach daily practice at home.
